- How heavy are the Curb-Tec machines?

The CT-3000 weighs a mere 450 kg, and the CT-900 is as light as a feather at 260 kg. So they're easier for loading and unloading and no more pushing or pulling.

- How many people does it take to operate the Curb-Tec machines?

It takes only three people to operate the machines.
The vibrating hopper replaces the person juking, or feeding the auger.

- What are the dimensions of your machines?

- How many meters of curb can be poured in an 8 hour day?

Due to the many different types of jobs with different requirements and specific circumstances, it is near impossible to say exactly over the course of a full 8 hour day. Although, our CT-3000 is capable of pouring 14 m per minute and the CT-900 is capable of pouring 7 m per minute. Of course, this does not necessarily equate to 3000 m days, but the CT-900 has been known to lay 800 m in an 8 hour day.

- OK, so the machines are fast, but does that really mean significant savings?

We'll show a side-by-side comparison of the same job using our method and the traditional method to show the savings. We'll even do it using the least flattering circumstances for our machine. For example, we'll use the slower of our two machines, the CT-900, most jobs can be done with three people but we'll use the maximum number of five, the job we'll use will be a straight curb despite our method pulling away from the traditional method even more when there are curves in the curb.

Let's imagine the job is calling for 300 m of 15 cm high and 15 cm wide curb with 15 cm below the surface. Let's look at the differences in concrete prices first. Three-hundred 15 cm x 30 cm x 100 cm blocks would need to be used for this job using the traditional method. At $4.35 (€ 3.40) a block, this would cost $1,305 (€ 1,019). Using the same concrete supplier that sells those blocks that size for $4.35 (€ 3.40), it would cost $60/1m3 (€ 47/1m3). For this size, 22 m of curb can be done using 1m3 of concrete. Therefore this job would require 14 m3 at a cost of $840 (€ 656).

Now let's take a look at the savings in cost of labor. Above, we mentioned that the CT-900 has been known to put down 800 m of curb in an eight hour day. That's quite possible under the most ideal situations but in the construction world, we know that's not always possible. A realistic minimum for the CT-900 in an eight hour day is 300 m. So, our method could have this job done in one day and with five people at $10/hr (€ 8/hr)., the labor cost would be $400 (€ 320). The traditional method typically produces 30 m of curb per day. Therefore, the same number of people at the same hourly rate would cost $4000 (€ 3,124) for labor.

The total cost for concrete and labor using the traditional method would equal $3,705 (€ 2,939). Imagining that this job would need a new mold to make this shape and size of curb, a new mold would cost in the neighborhood of $478 (€ 374). Also, gas and other miscellaneous costs for usage would be no more than $32 (€ 25) per day. The total cost for this job using our method would equal $1750 (€ 1,375)... less than half the cost of the traditional method... and now you'd be able to move on to new jobs and run a much more efficient business.
