Representatives from the Curb-Tec Group had an extremely promising trip to Bucharest, Romania in August. This was thanks to the willingness of the customer to try new techniques, and to the support of Mr. Daniel Iusan of Convena GmbH (Romania), a distributor of various trucks and other construction machinery, who assisted Curb-Tec on this particular sale of a CT-3000.

The customer was contracted to do asphalt roads as well as the curbs and sidewalks in a Bucharest city neighborhood. They came together with Convena when they were looking for ways to save time and cut costs on the project. That’s where the CT-3000 entered the picture.

After the CT-3000 was purchased, Curb-Tec, Inc. Rep., Mr. Larry Dewey, and Curb-Tec Europe Rep., Mr. Chris Hutchinson went to Bucharest for a two-day onsite operations and service training seminar. They feel the trip was highly successful, mostly due to the crew and mechanic picking things up amazingly quickly. They were laying very nice curbs and coming up with their own methods for doing things by the time all was said and done. The Curb-Tec Group owes them a major debt of gratitude for their dedication to job success.

All involved feel that if the remainder of the job goes the same as it did during Messrs Dewey and Hutchinson’s onsite visit, Romania will be a great market for “pour-in-place” machines. They are also all optimistic that it will, in fact, continue to go well and talks are ongoing with Convena for them to be a distributor of Curb-Tec extrusion curbing machines.
