CURB-TEC EUROPE RESPONDS TO BUDIMEX DROMEX’S NEEDS WITH NEW MODIFICATION ON OSTROW WLKP. JOB

January 6, 2009

*For Immediate Release*

Modification to CT-900 reduces curb size by half therefore greatly increasing applications available.

This job in Ostrow Wlkp. was to make a water barrier to keep an excess of water from killing the grass and washing the dirt away alongside and near the roads. The water barrier is not intended to be there when the roads open. Therefore, there was no trench, no rebar, no glue put down first, the mixture was not of the same quality as usual for curbs and finishing was minimal.

In the past we have done similar jobs using a 15X15 cm rounded mold (225 cm2) and a 14X12 cm mold (168 cm2). In mid-2008, after listening to the needs of clients, namely Budimex Dromex S.A., we began working on a modification which would accomplish the same objective while reducing material usage and also increase the number of applications our machines could be used for in Europe, given the typically smaller curbs. We began testing in September and by November we felt very confident we had gotten to the point of reducing material by half.

We are happy to say the 3800 meter job was finished in 70 hours, before the Christmas deadline we were given, and the mold used successfully laid a water barrier with an 82 cm2 cross-section area!
